# Geocoupler

> Geocoupler is a browser-based GIS platform for planning telecom, fibre and utility networks. Teams draw and connect network objects on a map, define their own object types, and change designs through Git-style branches that are reviewed and merged into one live design. It is cloud-hosted SaaS with nothing to install.

Geocoupler is aimed at network planners, GIS engineers and infrastructure teams that today rely on desktop GIS tools. Key ideas:

- Map editor in the browser: place poles, cabinets, closures, cables, ducts and routes; paths split where they cross a pole and keep their attributes on each segment.
- Configurable objects: organisations define their own object types, properties, specifications and map styles rather than waiting on a fixed schema.
- Git-like versioning: one live design per organisation, branches for proposed changes, commit history, restore, and merge back to live.
- Review and approval: branches move through states (draft, review, approved, deployed) with automated validation checks before review.
- Data in: JSON, CSV and GeoJSON import, with coordinate transformation from EPSG:4326 to EPSG:3857.
- Geocoupler AI: plain-language questions over the network model, answered with features on the map.
